A paladin who fell in love and swore his eternal devotion to the voice of the deity that had once given him visions and prophecies.

Personality

Very dedicated and loyal, often to a fault. Comes off as bit stuck-up rather often.

Generally somewhat anxious, but is good at masking his emotions otherwise.

Deeply religious.

Life

Born into a noble Aasimar household in the city of Aarinvale. He was trained as a knight from his childhood up until his teenage years. His connection to the divine did not make itself known until far into his childhood, which gave him visions that he did not quite understand at the time. Despite this, he became enamoured with the visions, forming a near-obsessive attachment to the unknown figure and his memories of it.

As a young adult, he devoted himself to the Kemuelian Church - one of the religious groups in the kingdom whose worship centered around the god of death, Kemuel -- as he had innately felt that the visions of his past came from the god themselves. Despite his adherence to the god of death, however, swore an oath to keep peace, as he advocated for peaceful deaths (as such was the standard belief for the Kemuelian church at the time), seeing death magic as a means to guide the dead to closure and a peaceful passing.

However, he was eventually ostracized from both his family and his church after he had attempted to bring light to his visions. His visions were a thing of his childhood, however, and had largely stopped as he grew into a young man, making it much difficult for him to prove his situation. Furthermore, the fact that the gods of the land had been conspicuously absent for years at this point made his situation look far more ludicrous. This eventually led to him being branded as a heretic by the church leaders himself, under the belief that their god would simply not reveal themselves so lightly towards a mere knight, even one of Aasimar origin.

He then proceeded to live in isolation, up until he, alongside some others, found himself roped into a grand scheme that had ties to the resistance and conspiracy against the Florencian Monarchy. Within this incident he had been involved in uncovering some of the secrets that the monarchy was hiding, then was roped into a mafia scheme against his own will that eventually led to a foiled assassination attempt, etc.

Ultimately, he, in his adventures, had learned that the very god that he worshipped was long dead, having been slain long, long ago, alongside their other godly brethren. With the remains of his faith and his crumbling beliefs, he had lent his aid to the Elves in the research of using the monarchy's own plan against them -- the profane act of resurrecting a god. He, however, had largely selfish motivations behind his help, wanting to instead use the ritual to resurrect his own god instead.

Appearance

Has shoulder-length whitish-gray hair that's often tied back in a half ponytail, leaving a slight sideswept fringe behind. Often depicted with a slightly grown stubble.

His eyes are a golden yellow, with white pupils. His sclera is a pale yellow, though it can be drawn with regular white sclera at times. He has dark skin with warm undertones.

He has a muscular build, and is slightly on the thicker side. Has a light dusting of white body hair all over.

Often seen depicted in a special cavalry armor set made for the devotees of the Kemuelian Church.

His armor is loosely inspired by the 16th century Greenwich-styled armors, in all black with gold decor. It has a distinct raven-like aesthetic, utilizing a beak-esque silhouette for the closed helm, combined with a feathery cloak.

Misc. Info / Notes

  • Preferred "Find Steed" companion is that of a large Tibetan Mastiff. It (he) has a very mild temperament, and is quite patient.
  • The pauldrons, breastplate and faulds of his armor are not unique as it is a form of parade armor for Kemuel-aligned clerics and paladins. His' is custom-fit, however, and the remaining parts (helmet, arm armor, and greaves) were custom made to match the body armor.
